BEECH HILL BAPTIST CHURCH
Every Saturday, I drive to Beech Hill to deliver a
CD of the Shinfield Baptist Church Virtual Service
to one of our members who lives in the village.
On a recent visit, she was telling me of all the
wonderful VE day celebrations that had been
held and I also saw some pictures on Facebook.
I had done something similar where I live. Wasn’t
it great to be able to gather together, albeit at a
safe distance, and spend some time relaxing with
our neighbours and enjoying the sunshine as we
celebrated together? Good to have some light
relief from the difficult times we are in.
As I left my friend, she noticed that another of
the Beech Hill Rocks had appeared on her wall.
It was beautifully painted in crimson and gold
with the words ‘Stay Safe’ on it. I know that these
have been appearing all over the village with
words and motifs of encouragement. We need
encouragement just now, don’t we?
I believe that God also wants to encourage us and
to reassure us that he has not abandoned us, but
BEECH HILL BAPTIST CHURCH
that he is walking right alongside us. When Jesus
came into the world, God took on human form and
he experienced hardship, persecution, sadness
and loneliness in his life, so he understands how
we feel. One of the main ways God encourages us
is through the bible and here are just a few verses
that stand out for me at the moment:
as you probably have more time on your hands
just now, why not have a look at the Bible and see
what God might be saying to you? If you don’t
have a Bible in your home and would like one,
At Shinfield Baptist Church, we are still recording
our virtual weekly services and putting them on
YouTube, and we are sharing the link to these
on the Beech Hill Facebook site. So do join us.
Recently, we had interviews with two Beech Hill
business owners – Linda from House of Colour
and Swapandeep from Trunkwell House – who
told us how they had been affected by the current
situation and we were able to pray for them and
all businesses in the village. You can see those
interviews on our website (see details below).
“Cast all your anxieties on him for he cares for
you” 1 Peter 5 v 7
“The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart
trusts in Him and I am helped.” Psalm 28 v 7
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not
consumed, for his compassions never fail. They
are new every morning, great is Thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3 v 22-23
I hope that, by the time the next issue is due, we
will be able to meet again in the chapel in the
village and see you face-to-face. In the meantime,
God Bless you.
“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” Joshua
1 v 5b

STAYING IN TOUCH IN BEECH HILL
Beech Hill village website
The Beech Hill Village website at
www.beechhillvillage.co.uk is a mine of useful
information about our village.
The home page gives an overview of the village
and a brief history as far as we know it (many
historic documents were destroyed in a fire 200
years ago).
We have pages for upcoming events, news of past
events and items of specific interest to Beech
Hill residents. These are summarised on the
home page so you can see, at a glance, what is
happening in the village. To ensure that you don’t
miss anything, you can register on the website
to receive an email to alert you of anything new
recently added to the website.
The ‘Village’ tab gives more details of institutions,
organisations and businesses in the village with
