Do you own a business with between five and
twenty-five employees? Are you starting to feel
that growth has stalled?

businesses is the owner (yes, that person in the mirror).

BEECH HILL FLOWER CLUB
T
he Beech Hill Flower Club usually meets
on the first Tuesday of each month in the
memorial hall at 7.30pm. Our wonderful
teacher is Margaret Finch whom many of you
will already know. Margaret is an amazing and
patient lady, full of ideas and a brilliant, gentle,
encouraging and innovative teacher. Our group
is ably managed by the lovely ladies Angela and
Janice King. Angela keeps us informed of the
materials we need to bring on a monthly basis and
also collects the money. Janice is in charge of that
most important club staple, refreshments.
Most months, between 8 and 12 attend. We have
yet to attract a man!
We are a happy and busy group and so were
disappointed about lockdown curtailing our
activities. To cheer ourselves up, we decided to
present monthly challenges to allow everyone to
practise their skills and have a lovely floral display
to admire and enjoy. It was agreed that everyone
would make their arrangement, take a photo and
send it to me. I would then collate the entries into
a collage and send it to everyone.
The challenge for month one was easy. It was
Easter and April. “Make an Easter display of your
choice. You must include a flower and a symbol of
Easter.” It was thrilling to receive the nine entries
and to put them into this collage.
The challenge for month two, May, was also easy
and very well received. Sophie suggested that
everyone makes a “Thank the NHS display. Blooms
and greenery of choice. Include a red heart.”
If you would like to know more about our flower
club or join our next challenge, please phone 0118
327 4128.
