Autumn Conference 2021 - timetable for paperturn - Flipbook - Page 18
TRAINING:
How to make the most of writing and
targeting emails in Action Network
(members only)
TRAINING:
How to campaign and win local elections
in rural areas (members only)
Ed Fraser, Field Organiser for the Eastern Region
and Cllr Ellie Chowns, Green Group leader on
Herefordshire Council
Isn’t it impossible to win elections in rural areas
because the electorate is so spread out? No! Certainly,
it makes it difficult to deliver regular newsletters and
speak to people on their doorstep but we have had
some excellent results in (generally Conservative)
rural areas. Ed will cover the practical aspects of
campaigning. Ellie will give a first-hand account of
how she successfully campaigned. Her ward went
from electing a Conservative Cllr with 80% of the vote
cast to an 80% Green majority!
Norm Cassidy, Senior Digital Support Officer
and Julie Dahle, Development Officer
The Green Party has invested in Action Network, a
tool that enables us to run campaign in ways we were
not able to do before. Norm and Julie will explain how
to target your emails effectively so the right message
goes to the right person. They will also provide top
tips to compose emails your readers will want to
read. Note that this session is for members who have
access to Action Network and either write emails
regularly or would like to do so.
STRATEGY:
Where next for elections in the Green
Party?
HOW WE WORK:
The GPEW Disputes, Complaints and
Disciplinary System (members only)
(members only)
The new co-leaders have made winning elections a
priority for the party. But what do we do now? Chris
Williams, Paul Steedman and Zoe Nicholson will share
what the party needs and intends to do to deliver on
our electoral ambitions and seek your input on how
you can be part of our next steps as a party.
An opportunity to hear from members of the
Green Party Regional Council, Disputes Resolution
Committee, Disciplinary Committee, and Appeals
Committee how they currently manage disputes
and complaints brought to the national party. They
will also share developments in how disputes and
complaints might be managed in the future.
Sunday 09.00-10.15
MEETING:
Quaker Meeting for Worship
FRINGE:
The Truth about Zane - climate change,
accountability and social justice
All conference delegates are invited to join a period
of stillness, sitting together (physically or online) in
silence to listen the promptings of truth and love in
our hearts. The Religious Society of Friends (more
commonly known as Quakers) is a faith group guided
by the testimonies of equality, peace, truth, simplicity
and sustainability. People of all faiths and none are
warmly invited to share in what we hope will be an
uplifting and welcoming experience.
Seven year old Zane’s tragic story holds within it
the burning issues of our time... Climate change and
its devastating impact on peoples’ lives on the one
hand; malfeasance, cover up and abnegation of social
responsibility by our elected representatives on the
other. Hear from our panel: Kye Gbangbola and Nicole
Lawler (Zane’s Mummy and Daddy); Natalie Bennett;
Paul Mobbs (Environmentalist and regular contributor
to The Ecologist); Tina Rothery; Elizabeth Mansfield
(Lewes District GP). truthaboutzane.com
