In Section 18 (i) of the GPEW Constitution ‘Dispute
Resolution Committee’
a) Insert: ‘Alternative’ before Dispute Resolution
Committee so the heading then reads ‘Alternative
Dispute Resolution Committee’; and
b) Insert this anywhere else that the Dispute
Resolution Committee is referred to in the
constitution and Standing orders for Party
Discipline and any other standing orders.
In Section 18 (ii) of the GPEW Constitution Dispute
Resolution Committee:
In the first sentence insert ‘seven’ instead of ‘five’ after
‘consist of’; and after ‘elected’ insert the following: ‘for a
two year term of office, for a maximum consecutive term
of six years’. Also insert at the end of the last sentence
‘-other than these roles committee members are free to
take on any other volunteering roles in the party as they so
wish.’ So the whole paragraph would read as follows:
18(ii) The Committee shall consist of seven members
elected for a two year term of office, for a maximum
consecutive term of six years, as part of the annual
ballot, with vacancies to be filled by co-option, with any
such vacancy to be subject to election at an intervening
Spring Conference. No member of the Dispute Resolution
Committee shall be a member of any other body of The
Green Party elected by the whole membership or by
Conference, nor employees, nor Officers of The Green
Party – other than these roles the committee members are
free to take on any other volunteering roles in the party as
they so wish.
AMENDMENT 3
Ann Forsaith*, Adrian Spurrell, Martha James, Sam
Riches
In the proposed amendment section 18(ii):
Delete all after ‘elected’ replacing with ‘for a two year
term of office, for a maximum consecutive term of six
years, as part of the annual ballot, with vacancies to be
filled by co-option, with any such vacancy to be subject to
election at an intervening Conference.’
So the whole paragraph would read as follows:
18(ii)) The Committee shall consist of seven members
elected for a two year term of office, for a maximum
consecutive term of six years, as part of the annual
ballot, with vacancies to be filled by co-option, with any
such vacancy to be subject to election at an intervening
Conference. No member of the Dispute Resolution
Committee shall be a member of any other body of The
Green Party elected by the whole membership or by
Conference, nor employees, nor Officers of The Green
Party.

COMMITTEE TO WITHDRAW FROM
FRAMEWORK OVERSIGHT BODY
MEMBERSHIP
Dispute Resolution Committee
Scott Robinson*, Ron Meldrum, Marisa Johnson, Wendy
Armour (4)
Synopsis:
Dispute Resolution Committee to withdraw from
Framework Oversight Body membership. (10)
Motion Text:
“Conference agrees that the Dispute Resolution
Coordinator is removed as a member of the Framework
Oversight Body.
The work of the Dispute Resolution Committee is to
provide, develop and stabilise a long-term mediation
service for the Party. As such the members of the Dispute
Resolution Committee (DRC), having attended several
of the Framework Oversight Body’s meetings, think that
DRC’s role in this body is superfluous, and not relevant to
its main function.”
