Prior to Antagrade becoming a part of M Group Services we
worked on several projects with Dyer & Butler, as well as with
Morrison Rail Services on Sussex Transformers Renewals.
Since Antagrade joined the Group, we have worked with
Dyer & Butler on some of our work for South Western
Railways and have put together many bids collaboratively.
We have recently transferred our server from hardware-based
in Middlewich to a cloud-based Share Point with the help of
the brilliant team at KHES. Such an upgrade had been
necessary for many years, but we lacked the expertise to
make this change in-house.
What are the benefits of collaborating with the
other businesses within the Transport Division?
What is the importance of the relationship
between the businesses?
The importance of collaboration between business units is
essential for improving profitability. Key to this is ensuring that
internal orders are maximised. To realise this potential, the
elements of the business responsible for deciding the
placement of work outside the business unit must have a
clear understanding of the business areas across the
Transport Division. Communication at all levels of the Division
is crucial, and can also help deliver more tangible benefits, so
it is important that we maximise this.

How has Antagrade been collaborating with other
companies within the Transport Division?
We plan to use larger
projects as the
springboard for scaling
up our design
capabilities and ensure
we are in the strongest
possible position to win
further work.
How is being a part of a bigger Group beneficial
to Antagrade?
Being part of a bigger group has enabled us to bid for
multi-disciplinary projects. We have also benefited from the
broader skills range that has given valuable input to the bid
teams. There have also been several cost savings in the
management of vehicles and plant. The key benefit to
Antagrade is improvement in developing a safety culture.
Small family-owned/run businesses can rely on close
oversight to manage safety issues directly. With larger
groups, reporting must be different and these different
procedures can more effectively inform and improve our
safety culture.
What excites you most about the future of
the business?
The opportunity to work on multi-disciplinary projects as part
of a larger team.
