DYER & BUTLER AWARDED
BUILDING AND CIVILS
FRAMEWORK FROM
NETWORK RAIL
The framework has been divided into seven lots, with
Dyer & Butler appointed as one of four suppliers per
lot, acting as overarching building and civils contractor
and overarching civils contractor. Dyer & Butler will be
responsible for all multi-discipline works, including
detailed design and construction for buildings and
civils projects within Lot 5 – Metallic Structures and
Lot 6 – Earthworks.
The framework will span Control Period 6 (2019 - 2024)
years’ two, three and four; with options to extend by
three further one-year options to extensions into
Control Period 7. The framework covers works in the
whole of the Southern Region from Devon in the West,
to Kent in the East. The works will also link Wessex,
Sussex and Kent, as well as Network Rail High Speed.
The works will be undertaken primarily within the
Southern region although the framework may also be
extended to other parts of the UK rail network.

Bridge strengthening and repair schemes
•
Bridge deck replacement schemes
•Bridge waterproofing and protective
coating works
•
Temporary support to structures
Total expected spend for Lot 5:
£40m - £70m
LOT 6 Earthworks will include:
•
Bank regrade and reinstatement
•
Crest and toe drainage schemes
•
Counterfort or similar drainage schemes
•
New or refurbished retaining walls
•
Sheet and bored piling
•
Temporary support to structures
Total expected spend for Lot 6:
£20m - £35m
