M Group Services Exchange Contracts for
Skanska UK’s Infrastructure Business Unit
M Group Services has exchanged contracts for the
purchase of Skanska UK’s infrastructure services
operation, a £320m revenue business unit of Skanska UK,
with completion anticipated to take place in 2021.
Skanska UK’s infrastructure services operation is a
successful and resilient infrastructure maintenance
business unit that serves the transport sector, including
highways maintenance, street lighting, rail and highways
projects. With circa 1,500 people operating long-term
contracts through established relationships with their
clients, they are a natural fit with M Group Services.
Over the coming months, both businesses will consult
with their people to ensure that the transition into the
Group is as smooth as possible. A new company has
been formed, Milestone Infrastructure Ltd, which following
completion and subject to consultation, it is proposed that
the majority of the existing people in Skanska UK’s
infrastructure services business will TUPE into, so it can
then operate as a standalone highways maintenance,
streetlights and highways projects business under the
continuing leadership of Managing Director Adrian Cooke
and his senior leadership team. Those delivering the rail
contracts will TUPE to Dyer & Butler, where they will
become part of a larger rail business supporting future
growth more effectively.
We are delighted to have
exchanged contracts on
the purchase and look
forward to completion
and welcoming the team
to M Group Services
in 2021.
Jim Arnold,
Chief Executive,
M Group Services
Adrian Cooke will report to Neil Edwards, Managing
Director of the Transport Division, with Milestone
Infrastructure sitting alongside Dyer & Butler,
KH Engineering Services and Antagrade.
