Day 2: 26 April - La Seu
d’Urgell to Sos del Rey
Católico (374km)
Shortly after restarting we tackle
a revised test at the venue visited
the previous evening. From there
we head west all day with the
mountains on our right and the
great Spanish plain on our left.
The roads remain twisty and we
will have a pair of regularities
either side of a barbecue lunch.
Our overnight stay is in a
mediaeval villa set in one of the
Five High Towns of Aragon.
Day 3: 27 April - Sos del Rey
Católico to Soria (374km)
An early morning Passage
Control ensures we stay on the
twisty roads before descending
onto the plain and a test at the
Navarra circuit, one of the very
few common points with the
acclaimed 2019 Carrera Iberia.
Then a short regularity before a
beautiful lunch venue in a Rioja
vineyard. The afternoon features
a pair of demanding regularities
in the aptly named Sierra de la
Demanda before our overnight
halt in the modern Parador de
Soria, perched above the city of
that name.
Day 4: 28 April - Soria to
Segovia (375km)
This morning we follow some
of the best parts of our London
to Casablanca event which was
scheduled for 2020 but, of
course, fell victim to the global
pandemic. A splendid test venue,
some regularities through rolling
hills and a trio of strategically
placed Passage Controls are
all on the menu. Our overnight
accommodation is in an historic
building near the Sierra de
Guadarrama.
Day 5: 29 April - Segovia to
Salamanca (330km)
Two regularities and a pair of
tests are on today’s schedule.
A light lunch will be taken in
a former hunting lodge in the
mountains west of Madrid. The
finish will be a little earlier than
usual and we will overnight in
a hotel looking over the city of
Salamanca.
Day 6: 30 April - Salamanca
rest day (0km)
Today is a day at leisure with
all the attractions of Salamanca
available. A little car fettling
followed by lunch and a snooze
by the pool may be top of most
people’s list however.
Day 7: 1 May - Salamanca to
Puebla de Sanabria (335km)
Fully refreshed and with the cars
ready to hit the road once again,
we head west towards the River
Douro that forms the border
between Spain and Portugal. After
a regularity and a light lunch
on the right bank, we continue
our journey to our overnight
halt in a Parador set in beautiful
countryside.
Day 8: 2 May - Puebla de
Sanabria to Luintra (405km)
Today after an early start
we are quickly into Galicia
in Spain’s northwest corner.
The roads get twistier and the
scenery more extreme as we
tackle four regularities, two
either side of our mountain
