lunch. After a short test, our
overnight accommodation is in
a former Benedictine Monastery
spectacularly perched above the
confluence of the rivers Sil and
Miño.
Day 9: 3 May - Luintra to
Cangas del Narcea (377km)
This morning we head north-east
into the mountains of Galicia.
After a pair of regularities, a
quick coffee stop and a test
at a newly built drift circuit,
the scenery gets much more
dramatic. Lunch is taken in
Sarria, the most popular starting
point for the Camino de Santiago.
The afternoon regularities
continue through spectacular
scenery while coffee is taken at
the well named House of the Four
Winds. Our overnight hotel is
another Benedictine monastery,
this time from the 11th Century.
Day 10: 4 May - Cangas del
Narcea to Fuente Dé (277km)
We start the day with a short
regularity in the hills before
descending to the outskirts of
the City of Oviedo where we
are in negotiation to run a pair
of tests at an internationally
famous location. From there we
climb swiftly into the stunning
driving roads of the Picos de
Europa, regarded as some of
the finest in the world. We stay
in a remote lodge in the heart
of the mountains and the cable
car to the summit is only a few
paces away. As long as you don’t
suffer from vertigo the views are
tremendous!
Day 11: 5 May - Fuente Dé to
Santander (342km)
It’s our final day and after all
that altitude it’s back to zero,
literally, with a coffee stop by
the sea on the shores of the
Bay of Biscay. We then tackle
our final test of the event
and two short regularities in
the Cordilllera Cantabrica. A
leisurely light lunch will be
taken while the results team
ensure the final classification is
determined before the winners
arrive at our five-star hotel in
Santander. The customary gala
dinner and prize-giving will give
us a chance to reflect on our
wonderful 11-day event.
We hope you can join us!
