The Trust was set up in 1994 to listen, support and respond
to the needs of people living with Type 1 and Type 2
diabetes. As a charity we have grown through our members
support, to be able to produce a wide variety of FREE
resources. These resources include a range of information
booklets about living with the condition, a helpline to offer
support when needed and on-line resources that can also
be downloaded.
We support all people in the diabetes community, not
only in the UK but also worldwide. We collect insulin
and diabetes supplies to send out to developing countries,
helping support children and adults with diabetes, where
they die without these vital supplies.
Diabetes is a complex condition that can cause severe
complications, including sight loss, kidney failure and
nerve damage leading to amputation. IDDT supports
long-term research that aims to minimise the risk of these
complications.
As a registered charity, IDDT relies entirely on
voluntary donations. Any gifts or donations are always
gratefully received and will always be put to the best
possible use. Please make any gifts or donations to the
“Diabetes Trust Research and Care Fund”.
