Study Days Helen Smith & Sue Galloway
We offer members the opportunity to spend a day learning and participating
in a wide variety of subjects and topics and most of all to enjoy themselves!
In July 2022 we welcomed Paul Atterbury from the Antiques
Roadshow who spoke about the Great Exhibition and the Arts
and Crafts movement and of course shared some anecdotes
of his time on the Antiques Roadshow. In February this year
Peter Medhurst a well known musician and lecturer talked about how music
has inspired art and how art has inspired music and this was interspersed by
Peter playing the piano and singing for us. Now for something completely
different, on August 4th Ian Kemble will be joining us. He is a magician,
speaker and author, has appeared many times on television, written and
presented programmes For BBC and Radio and gives talks on a wide variety
of subjects including the history of magic, cartoons and satire Including of
course a few tricks! Other Study Days planned can be viewed on the u3a
website (click/press here) as and when they are offered.
Please do join us for a day with a difference! studydays@odihamu3a.org.uk
Trips & Visits Kathy Venus & Sally Martin
Trips are open to all u3a members. In the past some of our many highlights
have included: theatre outings and exhibitions, in London
and further afield, visits to the Mary Rose, tours of
Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament,
Bletchley Park and many more.
This year members greatly enjoyed a Matthew Bourne
performance of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at Sadler’s Wells.
We are about to revisit Highgrove Gardens and, in the autumn, we will have
the opportunity to enjoy a private day's visit to Stratfield Saye.
We welcome ideas and help from all members.
Future trips will be announced via the monthly
newsletter and our web page—click/press here.
