INTUBATION CHECKLIST & SAFETY CARDS
Since 2018, the checklist card concept has been an established
patient safety tool, overcoming both physical and institutional
barriers to checklist availability. Carried by doctors, acute area
nurses and ODPs, there are over 13,000 in use worldwide.

guidelines, and endorsed by key UK bodies (35p each)
Paediatric checklist & safety card: Intubation checklist and
reference sheet for drug dosing and equipment sizing (65p
each)
Global Anaesthetic Safety (GAS) Card: For remote and low &
middle income country (LMIC) use (currently available
through SAFE courses only).

Research for Greener Surgery
Conference 2023
The inaugural Green Surgery Conference being held on the University
of Birmingham campus in the Great Hall at 10am-5pm on Wednesday, 13
December 2023. The conference focusses on decarbonising operating
theatres both in the NHS and globally.

In addition, we will be launching our green surgery programme,
including DRAGON, a major international cluster randomised controlled
trial (28,000 patients, 134 hospitals) which will be the 昀椀rst-ever
(surgical) trial with a triple endpoint (clinical, cost, carbon). DRAGON
will test reusable versus single-use gowns and drapes in theatre.
Tickets for the event are now FREE for those registering before the
15th of November- a £30 deposit (plus £3.22 Eventbrite fee) will be
required when registering for the event, which will be refunded
upon participation to the event (please note Eventbrite fee is nonrefundable). Tickets for industry members are £100 with no refund.
