Tan Kingston is a full-time Tunbridge Wells based fine artist who portrays her subjects using
expressive brushstrokes, colour and texture. Inspired by the snapshot moments of everyday
people, situations, and emotions each painting is a consideration of composition, design,
aesthetic and colour. Predominantly a figurative oil painter, Tan also creates still-life and
occasional landscape paintings.
Her inspiration for ‘Girl in a Turban’ was taken from a photograph of a life model that she had
previously painted in the studio and was painted during lockdown.
