Griff Rhys Jones
Extremely Rare Montblanc Pen
Griff Rhys Jones is donating a philanthropic award, given to him in 2002, a very,
very rare, and valuable Montblanc pen, with unique presentation stand and case.
Griff says “I was honoured to be given a rare Montblanc fountain pen in 2002 for
my work raising money and support for the Hackney Empire. It is worth a lot of
money. It is so precious I have not actually used it, but I would happily fill it up to
sign a letter of thanks and authentication to whomsoever will buy it now at the
Celebrity Bottom Drawer Auction site I have helped set up.
“I believe it is worth in excess of £7,000. I hope we can find a bidder. Because that
money is desperately needed at this time. The Children’s Hospices around me
are suffering a lack of funds during the current crisis. I hope that Montblanc will
understand that I am passing it on with regret, but within the spirit of their original
gift, and not be too disappointed with me. I have loved it. It is a lovely thing.”
