On February 7th 2020 over 400 passionate and dedicated
supporters came together at the Principal Hotel in
Manchester to celebrate Forever Manchester’s 30th
Birthday. It was a great night, with some of Greater
Manchester’s most effective and innovative community
groups taking centre stage in a celebration of everything
that’s truly great about our fantastic region. Our simple
mission over the last 30 years has been to raise money
to fund and support grassroot community activity across
Greater Manchester with a belief that everyone should
have the opportunity to be happy.
During this time we have successfully attracted and
delivered £39 million of investment into our communities
across Greater Manchester, helping 1.1 million local people
achieve extraordinary things together.
And so, on the occasion of our 30th Birthday, we took the
opportunity to launch what we hoped would be our most
ambitious and exciting fundraising campaign to date:
‘Give it Up for Forever Manchester’
37 days later our carefully laid plans were in shreds as
the UK went into Lockdown and the country faced the
most challenging time since the second World War.
But one redoubtable supporter refused to be intimidated by
a global pandemic and vowed to continue with his mission
to bring his fundraising idea to life for Forever Manchester.
Over the last 7 months, Trevor Johnson, the man
responsible for creating some of Manchester’s most iconic
graphic design for over four decades has been working
tirelessly to recruit 30 local artists to
‘Give Up’ a piece of their work to auction for Forever
Manchester.
And he did it. And here they are.
Ladies and Gentleman, Forever Manchester is proud
to present:
Trevor Johnson’s …………30 Artists Give it Up.
The campaign asked 4 questions.
Can you Give up your time to raise money for Forever
Manchester?
Can you Give something up and donate the money
you’ve saved to Forever Manchester?
Can you Give us something to help us raise money?
Can you Give it up for Forever Manchester and help
us shout about the work we do?
