Visiting the mosque in Chester gave us
more of an understanding and a really
good experience of what the Islamic
faith is about and its beliefs!

MOSQUE VISIT
Enriching the Study of Islam
During the afternoon on Monday 6th June, Year 10
GCSE Religious Studies students visited the Chester
mosque to enrich their study of Islam.
The Imam and Mr Chowdery (one of our Queen’s Park
parents!) could not have been more welcoming. We
had a tour of the whole mosque, which included seeing
where Muslims perform Wudu (ritual washing) before
prayer, and were lucky enough to witness afternoon
prayer in the prayer room.
Throughout the visit students were engaged, respectful
and curious, asking intelligent questions. Well done
Year 10 you’ve made Mrs Merry-Weather very proud!
I loved having the tour of
the mosque! It was a really
great experience and it
showed us what it is like
for Muslims day to day.
