LEARN & EARN
Young Enterprise workshop
RAISING AWARENESS
Talking Relationships
Queen's Park High School were selected to be part of a
national pilot project called 'Talking Relationships' working
in partnership with the NSPCC.
Working in partnership with Young Enterprise,
Year 8 took part in a financial literacy workshop
which encouraged them to consider their
personal hopes and dreams and financial plans
for the future.
Students learned about the cost of living and
explored ways to budget and manage their
future earnings by looking at possible career
options.
During enrichment week, Year 9 took part in this project
and worked with the Chester Sexual Abuse Support
Service. Students learned about positive and toxic
relationships, stereotypes and the influence of the media.
This enrichment activity forms part of the wider work we
have been doing across the school linked to raising
awareness of and challenging behaviours which could
lead to abuse and the 'no-one stand by' agenda.
This activity enabled students to start
understanding the skills necessary for success
in life and future employment. Students also had
the opportunity to think about the study options
and pathways open to them and how these can
be financed.
A big thank you to all the staff from Young
Enterprise for leading such engaging and eyeopening workshops.
