Defining Futures Exhibition
As part of our support for students in our Sixth Form, we are
working closely with Year 12 students to look at their future
options. This work was launched with a visit to the UCAS
exhibition at Liverpool Conference Centre on 28th June.
This was an exciting opportunity for all students to look at their
options post A Level and start shaping their plans for the future.
Students had the opportunity to speak to over 100 different
universities as well as apprenticeship providers. They were able
to listen to talks about student life and how to make a personal
statement stand out from the rest.
All students enjoyed this experience and there was a buzz of
excitement as they made their way home, with one student
commenting that she was now going to apply to university after
the trip!
It was very helpful in finding
my route after Sixth form, I now
know which universities I would
like to apply to.

College Taster Day
At the end of June, 58 Year 10
students visited Cheshire South
and West College.
After an introduction from college
staff, the day was all about taster
sessions - a ‘hands on’ approach
to decipher possibilities of
subjects for September 2023.
Courses were wide ranging from
childcare to motor vehicle
mechanics, catering to
bricklaying and many more.
It was a great day for students to
experience college life and to see
what is available for their post 16
education. Obviously this is only
one of many other options and as
we hit the new academic year the
students will get the chance to
experience Sixth Form life and
research apprenticeships on offer.
