Tess Wins by a Nose!
Grants & Trusts
Many congratulations to Tess (and her human,
Dan Gordon….) for achieving another prestige award
in Scentwork.
We are hugely grateful to all the trusts and foundations
who support our hospice. Grants not only help to cover the
essential costs of providing our exceptional compassionate
care, but also fund special projects such as our exciting
kitchen garden and wonderful new children’s resources.
Tess recently came 昀椀rst in both the Level Four and Level Five
Scentwork UK Trials, also gaining an excellence award as the only
dog to 昀椀nd all the scents on the day both indoors and outdoors.
Tess is a familiar sight for those based at our hospice as
she often accompanies Dan, who is one of Queenscourt’s
wonderful volunteers.
#teamqueenscourt’s very special thanks goes to The Margaret
Robertson Charitable Trust. Their on-going generosity and
dedicated support has helped us to continue caring for local
people with life-limiting illnesses throughout the pandemic and
beyond. We are truly grateful to the late Margaret Robertson for
choosing to help our hospice in this way, and to her wonderful
Trustees who carry out her wishes..

If your workplace supports charities or you are connected to a
trust or foundation, we would love to hear from you so that we can
work together to make a real di昀昀erence for our patients and their
loved ones.
Why Volunteer?
Queenscourt relies on hundreds of volunteers to do a wide variety
of jobs both within and outside the hospice. Volunteers bring
with them a rich variety of skills and qualities and save the
hospice thousands of pounds. We simply could not function
without them.
We know that time is precious, if you have a few hours to spare and
are interested in volunteering at Queenscourt please see our current
volunteer vacancies and apply online.
Please contact the Volunteering Team:
Tel: 01704 544645
Email: volunteers@queenscourt.org.uk
All our volunteers will receive induction training in preparation for their
roles. We also ask our volunteers to attend periodic update days and
to read all relevant hospice policies.
Regular communication is provided via our Volunteers e-Bulletin as
well as in-person by members of
the Volunteering Team.
