Busker Hits
the Right Note for our Hospice
Wonderful William raised a fantastic £60 for Queenscourt after busking in Cambridge Walks.
William took it totally upon himself to grab his guitar and play well-known songs such as ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Seven
Nation Army’ and ‘Smoke on the Water’ to passers-by, who generously donated their spare change after
being very impressed with William’s talents.
William, who learned how to play guitar through lessons in school and from his dad, Tom, was accompanied
by his proud dad to drop o昀昀 his donation at Queenscourt.
Well done, William – a Rock Star in the making!

Star Trekk Walk Boldly Goes and set New Records!
Queenscourt’s annual Star Trekk event took place in May this
year, where we welcomed more than 1,000 participants!
This record-breaking night walk raised more than £80,000 – an
incredible total which will help us to continue caring for patients and
their families when they need us the most.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our sponsors
– Titan Mechanical Services, Slimming World Southport, iSight
and Pleasureland Southport.
“Doing the walk with members alongside consultants was brilliant
fun and we all had lots of laughs along the way. It also helps to get us
all bit more active, in a fun supportive way while raising funds for a
great charity.”
As always, a huge thank you goes to our hundreds of volunteers,
this event wouldn’t happen without you!
Slimming World organiser Fiona said: “Our Slimming World
consultants in Southport couldn’t think of a better charity to get
behind and support, as it has helped and continues to help so many
of our members families.
“That community support is a massive part of our Slimming World
groups and if we see an opportunity to help our wider community like
sponsoring the Star Trekk walk, we always will.
Golfers Drive in Thousands for #teamqueenscourt
Hurlston Hall’s Annual Golf Day raised more than £14,000!
Huge thanks to our supporters and sponsors Radnor Hills,
Hurlston Hall, Johnsons Toyota, Communications Plus Limited
and Francis Kennedy.
Hurlston Hall also played host to our annual Summer Ball, which
took place on Saturday 12th August. As always, the night was
expertly put together by Queenscourt’s very own Events Fundraiser
Dianne Gillespie and hosted by Paul Crone with great hospitality
from Hurlston Hall and entertainment from Gary Barker.
Big thanks to our generous Summer Ball sponsors Westminster
Associates International and Artemis Media Pro昀椀le Ltd.
Earlier this year, six members of Hurlston Hall Leisure Club put
their training to the test and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise
money for #teamqueenscourt.
Allan Bowness, Trevor Jones, Keith McDonnell, Paul Butler, Paul
Wickstead and Paul Campbell all took on the challenge of a lifetime.
The group climbed 5,895 metres above sea level, the highest
mountain in Africa, raising more than £20,000 for our charity.
