What skills and qualities do I need?
PSHEE is designed to equip you with the tools and skills to help you when you leave Selston High School. You
will undertake many tasks individually, in small groups or whole classes. The only requirement will be a
willingness to join in and a view for what your life may hold in the future.
What will I do on the course?
As a school, we have identified five key strands of success for young learners. These are:
Enjoy and achieve
Make a positive contribution
Achieve economic wellbeing
This is a two-year course and, will be based around the five key strands of personal learning. This will build
upon work completed in KS3 and will focus specifically on the needs of individuals as they leave school. This
includes personal finance and aspects of health. There are also sections focussing on college and job
application and work experience.
How is the course organised and assessed?
There will be little formal assessment. Your Tutor will assess your
contribution to lessons and the quality of the work that you

In PSHEE you will be able to plan and decide this for yourself. As
a staff at Selston High School we will help and advise you in any
way we can to ensure you achieve your goals.
