Learner Loan route!
What is an Advanced Learner Loan?
An Advanced Learner Loan is a type of financial assistance designed to help individuals in the UK cover the
costs of their qualifications and training. It allows individuals to borrow money to pay for their training.
What can it be used for?
An Advanced Learner Loan can be used for college courses, vocational training, or other qualifications that
are eligible for this type of funding.
Do I qualify?
You will need to be over 19 to qualify. There is no upper age limit. You must have been living in the UK,
Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man for 3 years immediately before this. You must be studying on an
eligible Level 3, 4 or 5 qualification.
How much can I apply for?
The minimum loan amount is £300. You can take a out a loan to the maximum of the course value.
How do I repay the loan?
You won’t start to repay your loan until April after you finish or leave your course. Your monthly
repayments will be based on your income. You will only start to pay the loan back once you are earning
£27,295 a year (before tax and other deductions).
