WHY IS SPRING SO GOOD
FOR OUR MENTAL HEALTH?
HELLO
Spring isn't just about flowers blooming and birds chirping; it's like hitting a reset
button on our mood, filling us with hope and good vibes. The magical transition from
winter to spring works wonders on our mental health, and here's why!
Physical Activity Boost
The arrival of spring motivates individuals to engage in more outdoor activities like walking,
hiking, or participating in outdoor sports. Consistent physical activity has been proven to
alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, with outdoor exercise in nature being especially
beneficial for mental health and overall well-being. Spring offers a chance to relish outdoor
experiences and appreciate the seasonal beauty, from blooming cherry blossoms to clearer
skies and lusher landscapes.
Reduce Stress
Exposure to green areas and the outdoors has been found to lower blood pressure and
reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can aid in promoting relaxation and
lowering anxiety. A break from the constant stimulation of modern life, such as technology,
noise, and everyday life, can be found in nature. The peace and quiet of natural settings can
aid in mental clarity, lessen mental exhaustion, and elevate mood.
Increase in Social Meets
Picnics, barbecues, walks, and other outdoor events are just a few of the opportunities that the
springtime brings. After months of hibernating during the winter, this can offer a chance for
people to reconnect with one another and spend meaningful time together.

saying, 8let9s party!999

Now is the perfect time to grow your own
vegetables, why not sow your vegetable patch!
Prepare the area by ensuring it is free from weeds,
and well fertilised – as soon as your soil reaches
6ºC you can start to sow directly outside.
Things to sow now include carrots, lettuces,
rocket, spring onions, spinach, leeks and
beetroots.
