OUR COURSES
LEVEL 2 EARLY YEARS
PRACTITIONER APPRENTICESHIP
COURSE INFORMATION
The Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard is
designed for those working and interacting with children on a
daily basis, to ensure the Early Years provision is delivering
the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements as set by
Government for the learning, development and care of
children from birth to 5 years old. Job roles may include
Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Assistant, Early Years
Practitioner and Assistant Childminder, working in a range of
settings for example nurseries, day nurseries, pre-schools,
children’s centres, reception classes and childminder

Throughout the programme, many different types of
assessment will take place; during the initial assessment the
learner will combine self-reflection with a discussion with
their tutor to ascertain where their starting point on the
course will be. Learners will be assessed on programme via
recorded voice discussions, observations of practice,
reflective accounts, witness testimonies completed by the
employer, written assignments, teaching and learning, and
written and oral questions in tests/exams.
