Online Safety Bill Passed
After years of campaigning, the Online Safety Bill has
been passed and will soon become a law. This marks a
new era for children's safety online, at a time when
online grooming and child abuse image crimes are at an
all-time high. The Bill will place a legal duty on tech
companies to protect children from harmful content and
activity online. It will also give parents and carers more
control over their children's online experiences. Read

Prevent Duty Guidance
On the 7th September 2023 the Prevent duty guidance
was laid in Parliament. This is the first time since
2015. There are no new legal requirements or
additional responsibilities for schools and early years
providers but settings should continue to understand
their Prevent duty requirements as part of their wider
safeguarding responsibilities as outlined in Keeping
Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). The updated
guidance will come in to effect on the 31st December
2023 at the earliest. Read the guidance here:

EYFS Framework 2024
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
framework is undergoing some significant changes
in January 2024. There will now be two separate
versions of the EYFS framework, one for
childminders and one for group and school-based
