Day Opportunities
FAQs
Who are you regulated by? How do I/we know you are providing a good service?
Our quality monitoring is undertaken HCPA, Hertfordshire Care Providers Association as
part of Hertfordshire our host authority. This is called a PAMMS and stands for Provider
Assessment & Market Management Solution.
How do I/we know my loved one is enjoying and developing at Day Opportunities?
We undertake regular surveys with service users and families/carers/parents which
helps us know what we are doing well and what we can improve. On a daily basis we
talk through what went well and whether progress towards individual goals is being
made, no matter how small they may be. We also hold regular opportunities for review of
the activities that your loved one is accessing and an annual review to plan for the future
and reflect on what has gone well.
What training days do staff have?
Staff are all required to complete induction training and annual refresher courses to
ensure they are compliant and knowledgeable about all aspects of Health & Social care.
Depending on the staffs responsibilities they may also undertake specialist training
relevant to what they are delivering, for example, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong
Sector, ceramics, silversmithing and horticulture.
How much does the service cost?
Once we feel we can offer a programme of activities that will meet your individual needs
we then determine the price for this. This will include the type of support you may have,
for example full 1:1.
How do I pay for the service?
Invoices are sent monthly, and placements can be paid for by direct payment/ individuals
or by their provider.
How is medication managed during the day?
Each individual requiring medication will need to have their own guidelines and labelled
medication brought in from home. We will then develop a care plan for the individual
outlining times and dosage required. This is then administered and recorded by a fully
trained member of staff.
