SLP Newsletter (December - 2020)(v4) - Flipbook - Page 15
Children entertained their virtual guests with poems,
songs and rhymes just as they would have had they been
in school.
A whopping £90 was raised for Macmillian Cancer
research – more than was ever anticipated.
As if that wasn’t enough, families then went on to
give generously to the Suspended Meals Project for
St Stephen’s Church.
Both food and money was donated to the Harvest
initiative in abundance and subsequently St Stephen’s
Church were able to help lots of families within the
community.
Mrs Louise Thompson, South Stanley Infant & Nursery
School’s Headteacher said:
"Once again w e w ere astounded by everyone's kindness.
Given the current circumstances, their generosity this
year on various initiatives has been overwhelming. A s
a result, Macmillan are able to continue their brilliant
w ork and more locally, St Stephen's have been able
to help a lot of families who are struggling due to the
coronavirus situation."
All being well, we hope to resume the SLP Helping Hand
support fund in 2021 so we can help families across SLP
who need it.
