The current focus in the transport sector is the electrification of vehicles and progress of infrastructure,
however hydrogen won’t be too far behind as the alternative to fuel heavy duty transport. Beyond that
business opportunities may present themselves:
• Landowners close to industrial areas may have the opportunity to host infrastructure;
• Businesses with high energy demands or running large vehicle fleets may benefit from a shift to hydrogen as the fuel
source where they are close to a production hub or hydrogen pipe network.
• Renewable energy project developers grappling with high grid connection costs (due to connection distance) may be
prudent to keep hydrogen electrolysis in mind – if anything like recent advances in wind turbine technology, costs and
efficiencies are forecast change rapidly in a short timeframe.
However you get involved in the hydrogen
economy, it is likely that your response will lead to
changes in use of your land or buildings and/or a
requirement for new built development. We are
widely recognised as one of the leading planning
consultants in the renewable energy sector and
specialise in obtaining deliverable permissions.
In combination with our project management,
landscape and environmental capability we have
the experience to help you successfully navigate
proposals through the planning system.
