FAIRING is a spring malting barley with Full MBC Approval for
Grain Distilling. It was specifically bred for this market and has
high grain nitrogen content required for the end use.
Excellent resistance to wet weather diseases.
The earliest spring barley to mature on the AHDB Recommended
List 2020/21.
Excellent grain quality with high specific weight and low screenings.
WHERE TO GROW FAIRING
FAIRING is a specialist variety grown
on contract in Scotland and Eastern
England.
WHERE NOT TO GROW FAIRING
BREEDING INSIGHTS
FAIRING was specifically bred for
the Scottish grain distilling market.
It is now a popular variety in England,
due to significant contracts available.
It has very high grain N and big bold
grain, with low screenings and high
specific weight.

market, with lower yields and higher
nitrogen, therefore it is advised to
only grow FAIRING if you have a
