In the national FA Youth Cup, our U18’s
were drawn away to Telford. They came
away with a hard-fought 3-2 win. The same
weekend, we were very proud to host
Category One Swansea City Academy U16’s
at Edgar Street. They played our U18’s with
a few U16’s in the squad. The result was not
important, it was about firstly building links
with such an esteemed club, then the
performance from our boys.
I’d like to thank the club and the
supporters for their compassion and
support.
It was the hardest thing I have ever done in
my life, yet the greatest privilege, to read
“Joycey’s” eulogy in a packed Hereford
Cathedral. The day was an emotional and
fitting tribute to a fantastic young man.
We miss you, Kieran 11.
Whilst respecting the level of our opponents
and that they would have the majority of
possession, we tried to implement our style
when we had the ball and be effective.
Winning the game was an unexpected
bonus!
Swansea filmed the game and shared it with
us so its online for anyone who is
interested.
Since then, we have continued building
relationships with the Swans and have
taken a number of teams to their very
impressive Llandore Training facility.
Midway through September, we suffered
the worst possible tragedy any parent can
go through when we lost one of our own in
Kieran “Joycey” Joyce (U16’s age group).
