50 FARM WEEK
RURALYOUTH
NOVEMBER 23 2017
Kesh YFC turns 50
K
ESH Young Farmers brought
their 50th year celebrations
to a close with their
anniversary dinner and dance
in Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen on
Saturday, November 11.
This event was greatly supported
by past and present members with
260 in attendance. The club was
delighted with the turnout and the
night was thoroughly enjoyed by all
that attended.
The M.C. for the evening was Mr
Wesley Atchison, a past member
of Kesh YFC and a former Vice
President of the YFCU. He
reminisced about his time in the
club and gave the audience quite a
few laughs!
The current club president, Sandra
Beacom, welcomed everyone and
talked about how evident it was,
both in the planning and on the
night, the passion everyone has
for the club. She mentioned the
late James Owens, the first club
president and paused for a moment
to remember all he did for the club,
along with others who have passed
away and contributed to the success
of the club throughout the 50 years.
She thanked all those who travelled
distances to be there and said the
club had enriched the lives of many
giving challenges, giving memories
and, most of all, friendships.
After a wonderful meal, the awards
were presented by Club Secretary
Hannah Birney assisted by George
Irvine and Club Leader Dylan
Thompson to the current members
celebrating many successes and
were presented by past members
over the 50 years.
Mr Albert Knox presented the
agricultural awards, Mrs Rosemary
Barton presented the Public
Speaking Awards, Mrs Ruth Ross
