HE Water Catchment Partnership
has launched its new branding at
the Balmoral Show.
The partnership was formed in

to deliver one message incorporating
the ethos from all organisations to

The four-day event provides an important
opportunity for industry stakeholders and the
wider public to learn more about AFBI, which is
Northern Ireland’s largest provider of agri-food
science and the work which it undertakes.
With a new corporate plan now in place,
and following a brand refresh, CEO Dr Stanley
McDowell believes the show offers an ideal
engagement platform: “AFBI provides vital
scientific support to its sponsoring department
DAERA and the agri-food industry while
delivering wider benefits for society across a
broad range of areas.
“At Balmoral we are showing how our research
and other science is leading improvements in
the agri-food industry, how it is helping protect
animal, plant and human health and how it is
contributing to enhancing our natural and marine
“Balmoral Show presents the chance to bring
what we do to life and actually show visitors – of
all ages – how our work is making a difference.”
AFBI’s new chair, Colin Coffey, added: “The agrifood sector continues to face new challenges and
pressures, and our research is playing a vital
role in shaping and transforming the future of
the industry. I’m delighted to join the rest of the
AFBI team on our interactive stand and help to
enhance awareness and understanding of the
significance of our work.”
In addition to a range of displays explaining
AFBI’s impact, the stand includes an educational
element which illustrates the work of AFBI
scientists in areas such as animal health,
freshwater fisheries, water quality and the use of
technology to improve grass utilisation.
The AFBI marquee is located beside the Cattle
Ring and close to the Eikon Exhibition Centre.
