Farmers For Action welcomes plan to tackle bTB
ARMERS For Action has welcomed
Minister Edwin Poots’ plan to tackle

FFA’s Sean McAuley said: “It’s a change

Agriculture, squandering EU money
for years as uncovered by FFA in not
implementing a bTB eradication policy
thereby leaving family farmers reeling from
repeated TB outbreaks to date.
“Assuming the current direction of travel
by Minister Poots obtains green lights all
the way eventually – then the Department
for Agriculture and only the Department
for Agriculture must take responsibility
for the cull of infected badgers as is
their duty to properly manage disease
outbreaks and not be allowed to side-slip
their responsibilities in suggesting already

of the Cancer Centre, and
Teen Challenge Belfast.

the response from agri companies and

already attracting a lot of interest on

58 charity tractor run
THE Magherally LOL 58 annual
charity tractor run takes place
on Friday, July 30.
All those wishing to take part
– whether it be in vintage or
modern tractors, or vintage
cars, lorries or indeed to
display machinery of any kind
– are asked to gather at the
ﬁeld adjacent to the Orange
Hall on the Drumneath Road,
Banbridge, at 6.30pm.
Spectators will have the
opportunity to view the vehicles
before they head off on an eightmile run through the County

BBQ and presentation of Holstein NI’s
much-anticipated Herds Inspection
Three judges have been busy in
recent weeks assessing herds in the
junior, senior and premier sections
of the competition. Thanks to Trioliet
and Cookstown Dairy Services for
their continued sponsorship.
The BBQ commences at 7.30pm
in Dungannon Rugby Club. Tickets
