Lakeview Suffolks smash
records at 8000 guineas
RECORDS were smashed recently
at the Burnview and Lakeview
Suffolk females sale staged at
Balmoral on behalf of William Tait
and Gary Beacom.
Hitting the headlines at a
whopping 8000 guineas was a
gimmer from Gary Beacom sired
by Rhaeadr Rolex and out of a
Solwaybank Major dam. She is a
full sister to Lakeview Black Gold
who sold at the National Sale for
4500 guineas. Snapping this lot up
was Stuart Craft, Fife, Scotland.
Another super gimmer from the
same home realised 5000 guineas.
This was a Rhaeadr Rolex daughter
selling in lamb to Rockery Rodeo.
The buyer on this occasion was
Brian Doyle, Co Wicklow.
William Tait also enjoyed brisk
bidding with his top price of
4600 guineas paid for an exciting
prospect sired by Birness Murray.
This choice ewe lamb was placed
1st at the NI Championships and
full sister to the 8000 guineas
gimmer sold in Stirling. Ian
Donnell, Omagh was the top bidder
on this lot.
A triplet gimmer from the
Burnview flock attracted a lead call
of 4100 guineas. This is a full sister
to the 4600 guineas lamb, and was
bought by Sean McCloskey, Claudy.
Bidding for each and every lot
was strong throughout the select
catalogue with auctioneer Richard
