of his support
for the British
Equine Veterinary

Story’ fundraising
initiative. Adam Kay
will be a keynote
speaker at the
rescheduled BEVA
Congress, to be held
from January 16-19,
2021 at the ICC in
Birmingham.
“I was delighted
to hear that the
veterinary profession
has committed to
fundraise for NHS
Charities Together
and support their
colleagues who look
after humans,” said
Adam Kay. “BEVA’s
‘Share Your NHS
Story’ is a wonderful
campaign and I know
will be appreciated
by NHS frontline staff,
who are working
harder than ever.”
BEVA President Tim
Mair was inspired
to start the BEVA
‘Share your NHS
Story’ initiative, when
he saw that Adam
Kay was compiling
and editing an

Mary Beard, Sir Paul
McCartney, Kate
Atkinson, Kit de Waal,
Bill Bryson and many
more – sharing their
gratitude to the 1.4
million heroes of the
NHS. All prots from
the book, entitled
‘Dear NHS: 100
Stories to Say Thank
You’, will go to NHS
Charities Together
and The Lullaby
Trust, which supports
parents bereaved of
babies and young
children.
“We have all seen
the amazing work,
above and beyond
the call of duty, that
NHS staff have been
doing during the
Covid-19 pandemic,”
said Tim Mair.
“However, it has been
costly in terms of the
mental and physical
health of our NHS
colleagues.
“That is why we,
as fellow health care
professionals, want
to show our solidarity
and support for the
NHS. BEVA represents
a relatively small but
important segment
of the veterinary
profession in the
UK, and we have
committed to raise
funds for the NHS
Charities Together,
which supports
and champions the
various different NHS
charities.”
Tim is imploring
all veterinary
professionals to
support the initiative
by sharing their own
NHS story with BEVA
and donating to NHS
Charities Together.
