LYNFORD ARBORETUM
Part of Thetford Forest the Arboretum
has three way-marked trails between 1
and 1.5 miles. There is an easy access
walk and a lake with a small sandy beach
area for paddles. Parking is free and
there is also a free dog agility course
adjacent to Lynford Hall. Lynford Road,

MOUSEHOLD HEATH
184 acres of heath and woodland. There
is a wealth of wildlife here, including
birds, lizards, butterflies, dragonflies and

you can spot the fluttering wings of bats,
bullfinches, kingfishers, buzzards, owls
and woodpeckers here. For those of you
who are feeling really fit why not stroll
up to the highest point in the wood - at 96
metres (315 feet) above sea level it is one
of the highest points in Norfolk and from
here you can look out onto Sheringham
and the North Sea. The views are totally
pawsome! There are two car parks at
either end of the wood and parking is
available all year round and guess what,
it is entirely free! How woofingly good
is that? There is a dog friendly tea room.

This is a moated country house built SANCTUARY

gardens and woodlands but not in the

PRETTY CORNER WOODS
I really like the name of this place! This
is an area of woodland, ponds, open
heathland and grassland located on the
outskirts of Sheringham. If you’re lucky

horses and donkeys from across the UK
are given a safe place to live their lives at
these wonderful rescue sanctuaries.
Funded entirely by donations. You can
meet many of the rescued animals at
either of the two centres in Norfolk. Well
worth a visit! Free car parking and entry.

SALHOUSE BROAD
A wooftastic day out can be had by
everyone at Salhouse Broad. Fabulous
scenery and footpaths to follow through
the trees. There is lots of space for you to
run about in and you can even hire a
canoe here if you feel adventurous!

PARK
The Norfolk retreat of Her Majesty The
Queen. Unfortunately we are not allowed
in the house or the gardens but we can
run around in the Country Park. We are
also welcome to attend the many craft
fairs, the annual flower show and even
visit the parish church of St. Mary
Magdalene. We’ve not met the corgis yet
but we have seen the Queen. Please
check signs for repawts of any cases of
Seasonal Canine Illness between August
and the end of January to be on the safe
