In the fast-paced and exciting world of business, there
are endless possibilities. This established and highly
successful subject provides an excellent springboard into
the dynamic world of business and appeals to a broad
range of students with diverse interests. It is one of the
most varied and interesting subjects available and is
very well regarded by both employers and universities.
Business would be a great course choice for any student
considering a professional career or running a business.
You will study the core disciplines in business through a
real ‘hands-on’ approach. Each operational area is linked
to a real business case study. Units will have a slightly
different focus and some will be based around practical
activities. The course involves a variety of learning
methods including: group work, presentations, industrial
visits, guest speakers from industry and interactive
activities. Some of our teachers are senior examiners
helping to maximise your skills and grades.

You will study a broad range of topics such as marketing,
finance, operations management and business strategy.
You will also develop your knowledge of the business
environment in which organisations have to operate.
On this course, you will gain high level analytical and
problem-solving skills; these skills will be useful to you

areas; these include marketing, finance, human
resources and exploring the business environment.

Future Opportunities
Successful students have progressed on to a variety
of higher education courses including business, law,
economics, accounting and marketing. Others have
chosen to enter directly into employment in areas such
as retail management and leisure and tourism. There
are many opportunities for progression onto business
related degree courses, higher apprenticeships or degree
apprenticeships.
