WHAT IS YOUR CAREER NOW?
I’m a Therapeutic Radiographer in the NHS, treating
cancer patients with high-dose radiation, using
treatment machines called linear accelerators.
HOW IS YOUR CAREER
CONNECTED TO HEALTH?
We treat patients who have cancer anywhere in their
body, either alone or alongside other treatments such
as chemotherapy.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOUR JOB
I can see 40-50 patients a day so I need to be
outgoing and chatty to each person I meet!
BEST BIT OF JOB
It is very rewarding to help people through what can
be the most difficult part of their lives and when
patients ring the end of treatment bell it is great to
congratulate them!
WHAT JOB CHALLENGES DO YOU FACE?
It is a very fast-paced environment, often with a
lot to think about at once, but working within teams
means that we all support each other through the
days.
