Tony Holt brochure design 2015 V2.pdf - Page 21

Project Cost £250k-£300k
Existing / Proposed Footprint: 197m² (2,120ft²) / 312m² (3,260ft²)
The existing 1930s Spanish style property had some charm,
but the fabric was in need of updating and the client required
a building that would perform and provide a long term home
for a growing family. The site is situated in a conservation
area and any design would need to have a positive
contribution in order to achieve planning permission.
The design successfully meets the client’s current and
future requirements, generating ample bedrooms and some
fantastic open plan entertaining spaces on the ground floor.
Externally a true New England style is completed with some
elegant joinery details. The pale weatherboarding creates a
warm look and a natural slate roof gives a nice contrast and
a touch of class.
The client’s design direction indicated a preference towards
a New England style, which aided the visual transformation
of the property using weatherboard to cover up the existing
tired looking finishes.
