IMPLEMENTING SMARTER CONTROLS
3. Regular and thorough disinfecting of surfaces
Evidence suggests that the virus can exist for up to 72 hours on surfaces. Frequent
cleaning is therefore particularly important for communal surfaces. Ufton will:
6
Ensure that, wherever possible, groups will use the same teaching space
throughout the day
Thoroughly clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces between
groups
Increase cleaning of surfaces in rooms and within toilet blocks, adhering to
guidance on cleaning of non-healthcare settings
Clean all activity equipment before, during and after use by children
Ensure, where possible, each child has their own resources and that no
equipment or resources will be shared with other groups on site
Reduce the use of historical costumes to a token signifier to reduce the risk of the
virus surviving on fabrics
Ufton staff will have their own allocated costumes and will not share with other
staff
Costumes will be washed at 60 degrees and with a disinfectant additive
