Meet Victoria
I have worked in social care in various forms for the last
15 years, including 4 years working in Domiciliary Care,
which I absolutely loved. I never got round to completing my NVQ due to family
commitments and then covid, so when I was offered my current role of Senior
Carer and finally had the time to commit to my Level 3 I decided to go for it. My
manager put me forward and here we are.
I was really excited to start my Level 3.
I’m a self confessed ‘geek’ and once I put
my mind to something I give it my all so
this diploma was no different. I told my
tutor I was keen to crack on and do it
quickly. Not sure she realised how quick
I was thinking! I felt I was confident in
my job role and career choice and this
would be a positive for the Level 3, plus
help me learn and filling in the gaps I was
missing. I love to learn and want to know
everything.
At nearly 40 I
still feel I have so
much to learn!

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Tina
was always on hand to help me improve
and to offer advice and information. She
encouraged me to do better and was very
supportive with my pace of completing
the course.
My manager also supported me, and
allowed me to implement changes to
the setting to improve systems, ways of
working and documentation that I was
learning about on the course; beneficial
to the home and all individuals we
support. Fantastic.
I’m really proud of myself for finishing my
Level 3. At nearly 40 years old I still feel I
have so much to learn! My plan all along
was to complete my Level 5 management
qualification, so I’m excited to be starting
that soon. After that, who knows.
This course has given me more
confidence in my role and my place
within the health and social care sector. I
cannot see myself ever stopping loving to
help people.
