INSIGHT - Edition Ten - Winter 2021 online - Flipbook - Page 3
A NOTE FROM
THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
GRAEME BRUCE
I am once again thrilled to welcome you to Insight, our
inhouse magazine. We’ve a crop of brilliant articles from
across all areas of the business and several guest articles
too. It’s been a busy period since we were last here, with
many changes taking place, including promotions and the
creation of several new roles across the company. Learn all
about our Associate Directors announcement (pg 6) and
our new Planning Assistant (pg 25).
Perhaps most important in terms of looking ahead is the
huge agricultural transition about to take place. The first
of its kind in our lifetime. What will our new agricultural
policies look like? Will farming still benefit from the
support of government? We will be sharing our thoughts
at our winter seminar series which kick off on November
30th at Darlington Mowden Park.
In Rural news we introduce you to Emma & Andrew
Skidmore of Flakebridge Farm (pg 13), update you on the
recently launched Farming Investment Fund (pg 11) and
discuss other items affecting our rural clientele.
Our Commercial Team keep us abreast of the current
property market (pg 18) and look at arbitration options
for property owners (pg 20). Whilst we share an exciting
project from our Planning Team (pg 22) and an in-depth
review of current opportunities for landowners (pg 26).
As always, our Residential team bring you a selection of
fabulous properties from across the North East, news of
an exclusive new development in Hexham town centre (pg
31), a report on the growing demand for energy efficient
homes (pg 33) and a guest article from Elizabeth Earl of
Muckle LLP (pg 32).
It’s certainly been a much different experience to last year
and although the threat of lockdowns is still a possibility,
we look forward to another brighter year ahead!
