EXPANDING OUR SERVICE OFFERING
THROUGHOUT SCOTLAND
Since the opening of our first Scottish office 4 years ago we have worked extensively on behalf
of clients across the whole of Scotland on, amongst other things, issues such as land sales &
purchases, utility claims, tenant’s amnesties, rent reviews and tenancy surrenders, with the
aim being to expand our range of services and expertise for our Scotland based clients.
Mike Halliday, our Dumfries based Rural
Consultant, has been working hard over the past
12 months to bring you more opportunities
for growth and the best strategic advice with
accreditation from both FBAASS and CAAV.
FBAASS Accreditation
Mike explains, “I have been working towards sitting
the CAAV exams for several years and I’m delighted
to have passed first time. My FBAASS accreditation
coupled with qualifying as a Fellow of the CAAV will
give our Scottish clients confidence that they are
receiving good quality advice which will add value
to their businesses.”
FBAASS, or the Farm Business Advisor Accreditation
Scheme for Scotland, the nationally recognised
standard for Scotland, allows farmers to seek
expert advice from accredited farm business
advisors under the Farm Advisory Service.
Funding of up to £3,700 is available for full
business reviews, including ILMPs, Specialist Advice
and Carbon Audits, which deliver expert advice,
information, and resources, resulting in increased
profitability and sustainability of farms and crofts
throughout Scotland.
CAAV fellowship
The Central Association of Agricultural Valuers,
CAAV, is a specialist professional body representing,
qualifying, and briefing almost 3,000 members
operating within a broad range of rural work.
Fellowship of the CAAV is a highly regarded
qualification - the 2-day qualification exams are
hugely challenging and take place on an annual
basis, with those successful being awarded with a
Fellowship. Of the 3,000 throughout the UK only a
small number of those practice in Scotland.
As well as attending lectures and study seminars,
CAAV Fellows must present a broad knowledge of
rural life, understand the relevant law and practice
and keep abreast of new developments on a
practical level.
