UHigh Distinguished
Alumni Recognized
Four distinguished UHS alumni were honored at the
University Laboratory School Foundation’s annual
Distinguished Cubs Celebration on Saturday, February
11, at LSU’s Club at Union Square.
The event celebrated the accomplishments of Warren
Drake ’69, retired superintendent of East Baton Rouge
Parish Schools and Zachary Community School District,
and Gordon McKernan ’84, owner and attorney, Gordon
McKernan Injury Attorneys, as they were inducted into
the Academic Hall of Distinction.
Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame were Steve
Maddox ’66, former U-High Coach and faculty member,
and Anwar Johnson ‘04, former U-High and United
States Air Force Academy basketball great and major
with the United States Air Force.
