WHY WE FIGHT:
To Give
Kids An
Equal
Chance
Every child in our community deserves an equal opportunity
to learn and succeed. Only one out of every three students
in Metro Nashville Public Schools is able to read on grade
level by the end of third grade. Studies show that children not
reading on grade level by this point struggle to learn across
subjects and rarely catch up. These children are four times
more likely to drop out of high school.
Together, we can ensure that every child in our community
enters kindergarten ready to learn, has the support they need
to develop crucial reading skills for success and receives
essential social and emotional support from preschool to
graduation.
