Academic Services worked in collaboration with ABC Secondary School staff and various district departments to coordinate the development
of the Comprehensive Support & Improvement (CSI) Plan for ABC Secondary. In conjunction with the school site, Academic Services, and
IT department, a needs assessment was conducted; the results were used to complete a comprehensive data analysis process in which staff
examined the root causes preventing students from graduating. The data collected included graduation rates for the last three years, firstquarter progress reports and final grades, attendance, and credit deficiencies. School teams received access to the data in various formats
including desegregated data by subgroup, subject area, and grade level. The data review and analysis were conducted by district
supervisors from Academic Services, and ABC Secondary administrators, teachers, and community stakeholders. During the first grading
period, local assessments such as attendance, grades, teacher assessment results, and classroom observations were reviewed. Based on
this analysis, weekly meetings were set up to provide ongoing support. During these weekly meetings, ABC Secondary stakeholders used
tools such as Jam Board to facilitate discussions and collect feedback regarding student progress and program needs. The
The District provided additional sub days and hourly pay for teacher collaboration: data analysis and pacing guide development. The District
conducted virtual walk-throughs of independent studies classrooms to assess the best instructional strategies implementation. The data
analysis revealed the specific content areas that teachers needed to provide additional in-class support. The Edgenuity platform was
provided as an additional supplemental technology curriculum to help fill student gaps for specific content as well as provide access to
additional courses for college and career outcomes and to meet graduation requirements. Teachers were hired from across the district to
provide additional support in the independent studies program to expand access to coursework as well, including World Languages,
Chemistry, Visual and Performing Arts, Read 180 for reading support, and Health courses. A secondary teacher on special assignment was
assigned to ABC Secondary School (Alternative) to provide oversite with grades and to meet graduation requirements.
