June Board Public Hearing was held on June 6, 2022. The District followed the required procedure to notify the public of the LCAP Public
Hearing. During each stakeholder meeting (eg. LCAP PAC, EL LCAP PAC, Employee groups, etc.), participants were provided a timeline
and notified of June 6, 2022, Public Hearing, and the June 21, 2022 Board Meeting. Notifications were sent out via the district communication
forum to the community (community newsletter) and ABC Unified Website.
June Board Action Item was held on June 21, 2022; The Board approved the 2022-23 LCAP Budget and Action and Services.
A summary of the feedback provided by specific educational partners.
The information from Stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, administrators, community, and Board) is reflected in the increased
actions/services for students who are socioeconomically disadvantaged students, English learners, and foster youth. General descriptions of
stakeholders' feedback are included in the section below. Overall, they focused on concerns related to the varying degrees of trauma
students experienced due to the return to school adjustments, trauma related to COVID, and loss of instructional time due to Covid surges.
Students and parents continue to express a need for mental health services, coupled with inclusive classroom strategies and clearly defined
intervention programs. LCAP PAC and Strategic Planning Committees specifically asked about math intervention programs and reading
intervention programs. In particular, for students in elementary school who had very little experience with traditional schooling, pre-COVID.
Additional elementary teachers will allow students to learn in smaller communities, and teachers will have more time to focus on students'
individual and collective academic needs. LCAP PAC, Strategic Planning Committee, Employee Groups, and Principals expressed the need
to maintain MHP in response to the trauma students and families experienced due to COVID-19. Mental Health Professionals (MHP)
assigned to each school will continue throughout the upcoming school years. Principals and District Staff requested that we continue and
expand academic counseling support for UDP students. Programs such as dual enrollment, ethnic studies, CTE, Visual and Performing Arts,
advanced placement, and summer school were noted as keeping students engaged and motivated in their college and career goals.
Participants from each stakeholder group were assured that support in their requested areas would continue.
