group instructional blocks focused on improving the academic performance of English
learners, foster youth, and students who are without permanent housing.
~ Cultural Proficiency training for teachers, school staff, and students.
~ Continue full-time Mental Health Professionals at each school.
Administrators:
~ Continue full-time Mental Health Professional (MHP) and each school, who connect students/families to school and community resources;
provide Tier I and Tier II behavioral support; and implement and train staff on a social, and emotional learning curriculum that teaches
students prosocial skills for school success.
~ Ongoing English learner support through EL roadmap training, EL counselors support for elementary as well as middle and high school,
and support intervention for reclassifying by 6th grade.
~Professional learning in inclusive classrooms and trauma-informed practices for both certificated and classified staff
~ Provide ongoing Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions (PBIS) support for school teams’ schoolwide implementation and monitoring
efforts.
~Continue intervention support for academics, specifically around data analysis to target specific student needs.
~Extend support of summer bridge programs during the school year.
~ Increase site allocations for site-specific programs aligned to the LCAP and State Priorities.
Teachers:
~ Summer school programs are specifically designed for English learning students and are ongoing after school.
~ Summer school programs for students who need to make up a class.
~ Student access to Band and other VAPA opportunities, particularly band courses offered at times that do not interfere with elementary
English language arts and math blocks.
~Teacher surveys indicated a need for additional coaching support for content area curriculum and instructional practices to support
inclusivity in the classroom.
Students:
~ Expand Career Technical Education course offerings in areas of high student interest.
~ Continue to offer summer school programs with enrichment opportunities.
~ Expand Band and VAPA offerings available to students.
~ Students expressed the need for ongoing mental health support and academic tutoring or intervention.
~Continue Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Dual Immersion support programs.
