Goal Analysis [2021-22]
An analysis of how this goal was carried out in the previous year.
A description of overall implementation of the actions to achieve the articulated goal, including a discussion of relevant challenges and
successes and any instance where a planned action was not implemented or implemented in a manner that differs substantively from the
description in the adopted LCAP.
Programs that supported access to a broad set of courses to achieve college and career goals were fully implemented. This includes
Edmentum, Advanced Placement support, Dual Enrollment courses, Spanish Dual Language Immersion, Career Technical Education (CTE),
and the AVID program (4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.10, 4.12, and 4.15).
There was full implementation of programs intended to support improved graduation outcomes such as Tracy High Teen Parent program,
expanded intervention supports, summer school credit recovery, summer math acceleration, and elementary jump start (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.8,
4.9, 4.16).
Programs to support enhanced technology (4.13) and successful engagement in citizenship in a global society (4.11, 4.17) were fully
implemented. These include student access to tech devices, increased opportunities for visual and performing arts, and the equity officer.
The SAT/ACT Prep Academy was partially implemented. The action and service for SAT/ACT Prep Academy was implemented in a manner
that differs substantively from the original intent. The ABC Unified program to prepare students for SAT/ACT was suspended as a result of
the University of California’s decision to exclude these exams from admissions requirements. Instead, the program focused on college
coaching sessions to help support students with admissions applications and financial aid applications.
Success of implementation:
An area to highlight as a success of implementation includes the improved and expanded partnership with the local community college to
implement Early College programs and offer Dual Enrollment courses. For example, additional health dual enrollment was offered as a way
to meet graduation requirements and provide access to students for college and career pathways. In addition, there were new offerings of
CTE pathways with additional partnerships with local businesses for work internship experiences.
Challenges of the implementation:
The biggest challenge with implementation was the adjustments to the Los Angeles County guidelines as requirements constantly shifted.
This restricted the type of in person offerings accessible to students and the number of students that could participate in some of the
programs. Cerritos College’s pandemic policies only allowed for virtual courses to be offered. Tutoring programs continued to occur in a
virtual format as well to follow the community college guidelines. In addition, COVID surges in January and late Spring limited student and
staff's ability to fully participate with program offerings. For example, the targeted professional learning designed using the Technology
Instructional Professionals (TIP) was limited in implementation due to limited substitute availability during COVID surges.
