School Parent Survey
Results
Students are more likely to engage in healthy behaviors and succeed
academically when they feel connected to the school. The California
Healthy Kids Survey will be given annually to low-income students, in
6th, 7th, 9th, & 11th grade, as a tool to help monitor the effectiveness
of ABC's resources and programs intended to build and strengthen
school connectedness which research has proven is a mitigating
factor in reducing mental and social-emotional health issues,
substance use/abuse, and poor peer/adult relationships in school-age
youth. Parents and Caregivers will be encouraged to participate in the
California School Parent Survey that has been personalized to provide
data on the parent/caregivers feeling of being welcomed, valued, and
able to meaningfully participate in the school community.
